All photos are black and white. Photo of Tessa, a mixed white and Chinese person with short dark hair, smiling and looking away from the camera. They are wearing a white t-shirt, grey hoody and a dark jacket. Behind them is a bamboo plant and brick wall. Photo of Neelam smiling with head resting on hands. Photo of Ammaarah smiling into the camera. She has eyeshadow and lipgloss on. Her hair is in braids and tied back. Photo of Tasha smiling and wearing a woolly hat on a walk in the countryside.

Say hello to:

  • Tessa - facilitator and co-founder of Remember & Resist, a collective of queer East and Southeast Asian organisers exploring and practicing migrant solidarity, community organising and abolition. They are also a teaching assistant in a primary school, where they value the honest conversations they get to have with young people about consent, boundaries and friendship. Outside of all that, Tessa's interests include karaoke, hillwalking and transformative justice.

  • Neelam (she/her) - a Tedx Speaker who founded Cysters: a charity dedicated to reproductive wellbeing, after facing her own battles around diagnosis and care and wanting to address the health inequalities faced by those from communities of colour and the LGBT community. Most recently, the organisation have changed their name to become inclusive of trans communities by removing the word woman. Neelam’s work has been recognised by Pride of Britain and Point of Light award from the Prime Minister.

  • Ammaarah (she/her) - an educator with a background in gender-based violence and working with young people. The majority of her work has been with Black and minoritised survivors of violence. She is also a freelance writer and speaker, with a particular focus on the experiences of marginalised communities. In her free time, Ammaarah can always be found with a flat white in hand and nose deep in a good book.

  • Tasha (she/her) - an educator and creative facilitator whose workshops centre on empowering young people to develop the self-knowledge and self-worth to build positive connections with themselves and others. She loves learning from teenagers, dismantling the traditional power dynamics of the classroom and is deeply inspired by queer black feminist critical pedagogy. This also informs her teaching at the University of Sussex, where she facilitates courses on youth-centered practice and re-thinking mainstream education. She loves to dance, cycle and swim, and believes in the power of listening to our bodies.

Our facilitators will help us to deliver quality RSE workshops to young people all over the UK. We're so grateful that they've joined the SB bunch!
